Individual Therapy

IMG_1973.JPG

I work one-on-one with individuals struggling with insecurity, self-doubt, isolation, anxiety, depression, poor sleep, and relationship challenges—often with their own dysfunctional family of origin.

My approach is holistic, compassionate, and person-centred, meeting you where you are and supporting you in uncovering your strengths, gaining new insights, and developing the skills you need to navigate life’s challenges.

Rather than focusing solely on the past, I work collaboratively with you to explore your present experiences, emotions, and patterns with curiosity and self-compassion. We will examine how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours—while they may feel unhelpful now—once served a purpose in helping you cope or stay safe.

I integrate mindfulness and grounding techniques to help you reconnect with the present moment, regulate emotions, and cultivate a greater sense of inner calm and stability.

Together, we’ll find an approach that works best for you. Some of the methods I offer are listed below:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is based on the principle that thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and physical sensations are all interconnected. Negative thought patterns can contribute to unhealthy cycles, leading to distressing emotions and behaviours. CBT aims to break these cycles by breaking down overwhelming issues into smaller, more manageable parts, addressing them step by step to foster positive change over time.

Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of trying to fight or avoid them. It encourages living in a way that matches personal values and goals, even when life gets tough. ACT teaches simple mindfulness skills to stay present in the moment and make choices that lead to a more fulfilling life. The aim isn't to get rid of struggles but to learn how to handle them while focusing on what really matters to you.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic Therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on how your body holds onto emotions and stress. It helps people become more aware of physical sensations, like tension or discomfort, which can be connected to past experiences or emotions. By tuning into these physical feelings, somatic therapy helps release stored stress, trauma, and negative emotions. The goal is to help people feel more grounded, relaxed, and in control of their bodies and emotions, leading to overall well-being and healing.
